Ingredients

  • For khandvi:
  • 1 cup - gram flour
  • 3 cups - butter milk
  • salt to taste
  • Pinch of turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • For garnishing:
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - sesame seeds
  • 2-3 - green chilli thinly sliced
  • Water
  • Coconut grated
  • Coriander leaves chopped

How to Make Plain Microwave Khandvi

  • For khandvi:
  • Mix besan, buttermilk, salt and turmeric powder in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Make sure besan is mixed well in buttermilk.
  • Cook the batter in microwave for 5 mins.
  • Take out the batter, stir well and put it back in the microwave for 3 more mins.
  • Take out again and stir well and put it back for 2 more mins.
  • Spread the cooked batter while hot over the aluminium foil (or back of steel thali) very thinly. Let it cool.
  • Then cut strips 3 inches wide and 9-10 inches long.
  • Roll them neatly.
  • For garnishing:
  • Heat oil in small pan and add mustard seeds.
  • When mustard seeds crackles, add sesame seeds and green chillies.
  • Spread them over khandvi.
  • Garnished with coconut and coriander leaves.
