Ingredients

  • 1 cup - mint leaves
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 tsp - Bengal gram dal
  • 3 - crushed garlic pods
  • 4 - dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp - tamarind paste
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • A pinch - of asafoetida
  • Salt - to taste
  • 2 tsp - oil

How to Make Plain Mint Chutney

  • Heat the oil in a kadai. Add the mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
  • Add urad dal, Bengal gram dal, garlic, red chillies, asafoetida and saute for 1 minute.
  • Add the mint leaves and saute for another 2 minutes.
  • Add the tamarind paste to this and add salt.
  • Grind the mixture in a mixer.
