Ingredients

  • 1 cup - moong dal soaked overnight
  • 1 cup - sugar
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 200 ml - whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp - cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp - nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 tsp - saffron
  • Some cashew, almond, pista

How to Make Plain Moong Dal Halwa

  • Grind dal into fine paste without adding too much water.
  • Heat ghee in a kathai.
  • Add dal paste into it.
  • Fry well till all water has dried up and dal turns light pink in colour.
  • Add milk and sugar to it. Keep stirring frequently.
  • Then add the remaining ingredients and let cool.
