Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 3, medium sized (boiled and mashed).
  • green chillies - 4 -5.
  • Grated coconut - 4 -5 tbsp.
  • Lime juice - 2 -3 tsp.
  • Salt to taste.
  • oil - 1 tbsp| For the seasoning:
  • Mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal - 1/2 tsp.
  • 1 dried red chilli (optional).
  • 1 sprig - Curry leaves.

How to Make Plain Potato Podimas

  • Heat the oil in a pan.
  • Add the mustard seeds first and when it begins to splutter add the rest of the seasoning.
  • Now add the cut green chillies, fry for a minute and then add the mashed potatoes and salt.
  • Mix everything well, cover it and let it cook for five minutes.
  • Just before serving, add the coconut and lime juice.
  • Serve with rice.
