  • 2 cups - suji
  • 1 pinch - baking powder
  • 2 cups - buttermilk/curd
  • 1 or 2 tsp - vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Plain Rava Idli

  • Mix suji and buttermilk well.
  • Add salt, baking powder and mix it (if needed add water). Leave the batter in a bowl for 4-6 hrs.
  • Grease the idli moulds and spoon the batter into them.
  • Heat water in the idli cooker.
  • Steam cook for about 12-15 mins on high.
  • Turn off the gas and leave it for 15-20 mins.
  • Serve it with hot sambar or with chutney.
