Ingredients

  • 3 cups - cooked rice
  • 1 cup - finely chopped raw mango
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - chana dal
  • 1 tsp - split moong dal
  • 6 - curry leaves
  • 2 tsp - finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp - finely chopped ginger
  • 3 - dry red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 tbsp - roasted cashews
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Plain Raw mango rice

  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
  • Add ginger, channa dal, moong dhal, dry red chillies, asafoetida, turmeric powder, and curry leaves. Saute for 2 mins.
  • Add the chopped raw mango, required amount of salt and saute for another 2 mins.
  • Remove from fire and add chopped coriander leaves and roasted cashews.
  • Mix this with rice and serve hot with papad and raitha.
