Idli makes for an amazing breakfast item, and Podi idli makes for an even more delicious and tangy and filling breakfast item. This vegetarian, quick and easy microwaved snacks recipe is one of the easiest to make, whether you have store-bought idli or homemade idli podi powder. To make idlis, whole urad dal, parboiled rice and red rice need to be washed and soaked with fenugreek seeds separately for a minimum time of 4 hours. After that, the ingredients need to be ground into a coarse batter, while adding enough salt. Mix it well and allow it to ferment.
To make the idlis, the microwave idli plate needs to be greased and a teaspoon of idli batter needs to be added, before being cooked on ‘high’ for a full minute and removed from the pan and kept aside. Then, take heated oil microwave safe bowl before adding curry leaves, urad dal and mustard seeds, the cooked mini idlis and Parippu podi and tossing them. Cook in the microwave on ‘medium’ for a full minute. Serve them hot and delicious!
