Ingredients

  • Onion - 1 (cut length-wise).
  • Potato - 2 (Boiled and mashed).
  • green chillies - 5 or 6 (slit into two).
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp.
  • Aniseed - 1/2 tsp.
  • Cloves - 2.
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 inch.
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.
  • oil - 4 tsp.
  • Salt - To taste.
  • tomato - 1 (small- optional).

How to Make Poori Kilangu

  • Put the cut onions in a little water and cook until the onions are soft.
  • Mash the potatoes with the onions and mix well.
  • Heat the pan with little oil. Add cumin seeds, aniseed, cloves and cinnamon.
  • When the above ingredients turn red, add green chillies and fry for a while.
  • Then add the potato and onion mix.
  • Put some turmeric powder and salt.
  • Cook until the raw smell of turmeric goes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve with puri or dosa.
