Ingredients

  • 4 cups - Milk
  • 1 cup - Condensed Milk
  • 1.5 cups - Sugar - or adjust to your taste
  • 6 - Cardamom
  • 1/2 cup - Almond
  • 1/2 cup - Pistachios (Shell removed)
  • 1/2 cup - Maida/ All-purpose flour
  • Oil - For frying poori
  • 1/2 tsp - Salt for poori dough.
  • 1 tsp - Ghee

How to Make Poori Payasam

  • Make a soft dough with maida, salt and water.
  • Prepare poori and allow it to cool down. Cut them in to small pieces and Keep aside.
  • Mix the nuts and soak them in water for at least an hour and then grind with little milk. Keep aside.
  • Now, in a heavy bottomed vessel add milk, cardamom and sugar.
  • Set the stove to medium and stir occasionally till the milk reduces to half the quantity.
  • Add the condensed milk and ground nuts. Mix well.
  • Now, add the cut pooris. Mix well. Keep in heat for 5 minutes.
  • Finally, add 1 tsp of ghee. Switch off the stove.
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Serve chilled.
