  • 1/2 kg - chicken pieces.
  • 1/2 cup - fried onion.
  • 2 tbsp - roasted sesame seeds and peanuts.
  • 1 tsp - garam masala.
  • 1 tsp - ginger garlic paste.
  • 1/4 tsp - coriander powder.
  • 1/4 tsp - chilli powder.
  • a pinch - turmeric powder.
  • 1 tsp - lemon juice.
  • 5 tbsp - oil or ghee.
  • 2 tbsp - chopped coriander leaves.
  • 2 tbsp - yogurt.
  • salt.

How to Make Pot Chicken

  • First slice the onion and fry it in oil or ghee till it turns golden brown and crispy.
  • In a mixer, add the roasted sesame and peanut (skin removed) and little water to make a paste.
  • In a bowl add all the ingredients except chicken and fried onion.
  • Mix it nicely and then add the chicken pieces and the fried onion.
  • Let this mixture stand for an hour.
  • Now heat the pan and add 2 tbsp oil or ghee.
  • Add the entire contents of the chicken in the pan and cover and let it cook for 30 mins.
  • Keep stirring in between to prevent the curry from sticking to the pan.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with chapattis or naan.
