Prawns in Garlic Sauce is a super easy yet most popular prawn recipe relished by people. It is a common dish available in road side food stalls in China and other Asian countries.

The prawns used are king size. They are fried in little oil in a pan. Some garlic and ginger are also added. Add some seasoning and tomato sauce along with some stock to flavor it further. Some spring onions are finely diced and added to the recipe along with some corn flour. The mixture is cooked till the gravy thickens a bit. It is best served piping hot with some rice.

  • 12 - prawns (king size)
  • 1 - Spring onion
  • 1 small piece - Ginger
  • Stock as desired
  • 50 gms - Cornflour
  • 100 gms - Tomato sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 - cloves garlic
  • Oil for deep frying

How to Make Prawns in Garlic Sauce

  • Shell and de-vein the prawns. Wash well.
  • Heat oil for deep frying.
  • Add prawns and remove after a minute.
  • Heat a little oil in a pan.
  • Add finely crushed garlic and ginger and then add prawns and sauté for a minute.
  • Add seasoning, tomato sauce and stock.
  • Add diced spring onions and cornflour blended in a little cold water, cook till gravy thickens.
  • Remove and serve hot.
