Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - Puffed rice.
  • green chillies.
  • 1/4 cup - Roasted Bengal gram.
  • Salt.
  • Curry leaves.
  • 4 tsp - oil.
  • 1 - Onion (Sliced thinly).
  • For seasoning:
  • Mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, turmeric.

How to Make Puffed rice Upma

  • Soak puffed rice in water and remove once tender.
  • Grind roasted Bengal gram, chillies, and salt.
  • Mix the powder to the puffed rice.
  • Heat oil and add mustard seeds and urad dal.
  • Add curry leaves after they cook and add some turmeric.
  • Add onions and fry till reddish in colour.
  • Add puffed rice. Mix and cover the pan for 5 mins and remove from heat.
  • Serve hot.
