Ingredients

  • 1 kg - bitter gourd
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tbsp - oil
  • 2 tsp - cumin powder.
  • 4 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder

How to Make Quick Fried Bitter Gourd

  • Wash the bitter gourds, cut and scrape out the seeds inside.
  • Slice into thin slices.
  • Soak the slices in salt water and a pinch of turmeric for about 2 hours. This would remove a lot of its bitterness off.
  • Drain and squeeze out the excess water.
  • Mix with the chilli powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the bitter gourd slices till golden brown and crisp. Serve with ketchup.
  • This tastes best with curd rice.
