The authentic Desi ingredients - mustard powder, hot chilli powder, garlic and turmeric adds the extra zing and it can be relished with any main course of your choice, be it plain rice, roti, idli, dosa, or pongal.

This quick version of Mango pickle is simple to make and you can store it in ceramic or glass bottles instead of plastic ones to retain its freshness.

  • 6 medium size raw, hard, fleshy and sour mango
  • 12 tbsp. oil
  • 2 tbsp. mustard powder
  • 2 tbsp. chilli powder
  • ½ garlic, peeled
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • Salt as per taste

How to Make Quick Mango Pickle

  • Clean the mangoes. Dry well. Chop into small pieces.
  • Heat the oil slightly, and cool.
  • Take a dry vessel. Mix the mustard powder, chilli powder, salt and turmeric.
  • Add oil and mix well.
  • Add mango and peeled garlic. Mix again. Bottle for 6 days.
