  • Raw rice (cooking rice) - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Milk - 4 cups
  • Cashew halves - 10
  • Raisins - 10
  • Powdered cardamom - 1/4 tsp

How to Make Quick n Easy Instant Paal Payasam

  • Wash rice and drain. Mix rice along with sugar and milk.
  • Put all these in a pressure cooker.
  • Cook this with the weight on, on medium flame till you hear 2 to 3 whistles.
  • Now, change to very low flame and allow it to slow cook for 20 minutes.
  • Once all the steam has subsided, open the lid.
  • Fry cashew halves and raisins in butter or ghee and add it in to the payasam (kheer).
  • Finally, add cardamom powder and mix well.
