Ingredients

  • 1 -large onion
  • 3-4- small ripe tomatoes
  • A few- garlic pods
  • A small bunch - coriander leaves and curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup -freshly grated coconut
  • 1 tbsp each - channa dal and Urud dal
  • 4- dry red chillies

How to Make Quick n Easy Tomato and Onion Chutney

  • Slice the onion into large pieces and chop the tomatoes into large pieces and set aside.
  • In a heavy bottom kadai, pour in a tbsp of oil and fry the dals and red chillies.
  • When it changes colour, add in the onion and garlic.
  • Let it become transparent and not brown.
  • Add in the tomatoes and cover it with a lid.
  • Turn off the flame.
  • When the above mixture cools add coconut, curry leaves, coriander leaves and salt. Now grind this mixture in a blender without adding water. You may season this with mustard.
