Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Toor Dal
  • 3 tbsp - Moong Dal
  • 2 - tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1.5 - 2 tbsps - Sambar powder
  • To taste - Hing, salt
  • Chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seed
  • 1 tsp - Jeera
  • 1 tsp - Haldi powder
  • Coriander leaves - for garnish

How to Make Quick n Easy Yellow Dal

  • Cook both the dals with turmeric powder and salt in the cooker.
  • In a pan, heat ghee, add mustard seeds and jeera.
  • After they splutter, add hing, chilli powder, sambar powder, and mix well for minute.
  • Add tomatoes and saute well till tomatoes almost become a pulp.
  • Add the cooked dals, salt and mix well.
  • Add water and boil till you get the required consistency.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
