Ingredients

  • Rice - 1 cup
  • Thoor dal - 3/4 tsp
  • Moong dal - 1 tbsp
  • Red chillies - 3
  • Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper - 6
  • Curry Leaves - a few
  • Ghee -1 tbsp
  • Potato - 1
  • Carrot - 1
  • Cabbage - 3 leaves.

How to Make Quick Rice Uppuma

  • Fry dals, cumin and chillies and grind it coarsely.
  • Season mustard, urad dal, channa dal, asafoetida in oil and add chopped vegetables. Saute for a few mins.
  • Then and the rice, salt, and fry for a while.
  • Add in water (for 1 cup rice, take 2.5 cups water) and stir well,.
  • Put everything into a pressure cooker and steam.
  • Sprinkle some coconut and mix with ghee.
