  • 3/4 cup - shortening
  • 3/4 cup - white sugar
  • 1/2 cup - honey
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/2 tsp - orange zest
  • 1.25 cups - all - purpose flour
  • 1 tsp - baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 2 cups - quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup - raisins

How to Make Raisin Honey Chews

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
  • Cream together shortening, sugar, honey, egg, and orange peel.
  • Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, and oats; beat well. Stir in raisins. Drop by tablespoons onto cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until evenly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
