  • 1 cup - red kidney beans, soaked overnight
  • 1/2 cup - paneer, grated
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp - ginger, grated
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp - fennel seed powder
  • 2 tbsp - coconut, grated
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander leaves
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - black gram
  • 1 - dry red chilli
  • 1/4 tsp - chickpea
  • Salt to taste.
  • Oil as required

How to Make Rajma Paneer Podimass

  • Pressure cook red kidney beans with 1/4 tsp of salt and let it whistle thrice.
  • Strain the cooked water and smash the cooked red kidney bean with your finger.
  • Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds, black gram, chickpea and red chilli.
  • Add the onion, green chilli pieces, ginger and turmeric powder and cook till onion turn translucent.
  • Now add the smashed red kidney beans with enough salt and stir them continuously to blend well with the onions.
  • Simmer for a while.
  • Finally add the grated paneer and grated coconut to the red kidney beans and stir occasionally to help the ingredients blend well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
