Ingredients

  • 3 - tomatoes (raw)
  • 1 cup - red gram
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • A small quantity -curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp - black gram dal
  • 1 pinch -asafoetida
  • 3 - red chillies
  • 2 tbsp - grated/shredded coconut
  • salt
  • oil

How to Make Raw Tomato Curry

  • Wash and cook the dal and keep it aside.
  • Cut tomatoes into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan/kadai, fry Bengal gram dal, asafoetida, red chillies and coconut grating and grind them to a paste.
  • Add tomatoes and heat oil in a pan/kadai, splutter mustard seeds, black gram dal, curry leaves, asafoetida and little salt.
  • Fry for 5 minutes.
  • Now add cooked dal and the paste and mix them well.
  • It can be served with any rice item.
