Ingredients

  • 2 - Red jalapenos
  • 1 - Onion
  • 2 tbsp - Urad dal
  • 2-3 - Red chillies
  • 1 small piece- Tamarind
  • 2.5 tsps - Oil
  • 1/4 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 2- 3 sprigs- Curry leaves.

How to Make Red jalapeno Chutney

  • Heat oil in a pan and saute the urad dal, red chilli, roughly chopped onion and roughly chopped jalapenos until the dal turns golden brown.
  • Remove and add the tamarind and salt. Let it cool.
  • Now grind it in a mixer into a smooth paste by adding water.
  • Add it to a bowl and temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Serve with hot idli / dosa.
