Ingredients

  • 4 cups - Pori (White rice puffs)
  • 2 tsp - Cooking oil
  • 1 - Onion (big)
  • 1 - Tomato (big)
  • 1 small piece - Ginger
  • 1 - Green chilly
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp each - Urad & channa dals
  • 1 tsp - Cashew nuts or ground nuts.

How to Make Rice Puff Upma

  • First, wash and drain the rice puffs.
  • The rice puffs become a little soggy and they become like cooked rice.
  • Keep it aside.
  • Then heat a pan, pour oil and splutter the mustard. Add urad and channa dal and the ground nut.
  • Fry till the dals turn brown.
  • Then add onion, tomato and ginger.
  • Fry it till it becomes brown.
  • Next add the pori (rice puffs), stir, add salt and mix it well.
  • You can remove it immediately and serve with ketchup or coconut chutney.
