  • 5 large round steaks
  • ¼ kg. ground meat
  • ½ cup washed rice
  • 2 tbsp. peeled almonds
  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of pepper
  • 100 gms. butter

How to Make Rice Shells

  • Combine ground meat with rice, salt, pepper, and almonds and then set aside.
  • Wash meat steaks and make a long thin hole in the middle.
  • Stuff it with ground meat and rice, and seal ends with a needle and thread.
  • In a pan, fry the meat shells with butter until red, then add the tomato juice and the cup of water.
  • Boil on low heat, add lemon juice and a tbsp. of peeled almonds.
  • Allow to simmer for an additional one hour. Serve warm with rice on the side.
