  • raw rice - 4 cup
  • urad dal - 1 cup
  • butter - 3 tbsp
  • jeera - 2 tsp
  • white til - 1 tsp
  • LG powder(hing) - 2 pinches
  • oil to fry
  • water to knead dough
  • salt to taste

How to Make Rice Thenkuzhal

  • Wash rice and dal nicely and dry it thoroughly on a piece of cloth.
  • Grind in a mixer to a very fine powder. Knead into a soft dough using butter, salt, LG powder and water.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan and press chaklis into hot oil and fry till golden brown.
  • Remove on a paper napkin and store in an airtight container.
  • Serve as a tea time snack.
