Ingredients

  • Raw rice - 500 g
  • Sprouted green gram - 25 g
  • Ginger - 1.5 inches
  • Asafoetida - 1 pinch
  • Cumin - 1 tsp
  • Bay leaf - 2
  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Refined oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Rice with sprouted gram

  • Wash and soak rice for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker or in a frying pan. Add bay leaf and cumin seeds. Stir for a second.
  • When cumin seeds crackle, add grated coconut into it.
  • Add hot water in proportion of one is to two.
  • Add crushed ginger and asafoetida.
  • Now add soaked rice and sprouted green gram and salt to taste.
  • Cook till done. Remove it from fire, pour ghee evenly over it.
  • Serve hot.
