  • 6 to 8 - left over rotis from the previous night or freshly made
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1.5 tsp - red chilly powder
  • 4 tsp - sugar
  • 2 tsp - cooking oil
  • salt

How to Make Roti Chivda

  • Take the rotis and crumble them up into small pieces.
  • In a kadai, add the oil and mustard seeds and allow it to pop.
  • Add the roti crumbs and blend together.
  • Make sure that the roti does not stick to the kadai.
  • If you feel it is sticking, add 2 more tsp of oil.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, sugar and salt.
  • Mix it well.
  • Continuously blend the mixture together.
  • Cook this till the mixture is crunchy.
  • This dish can be served hot or cold.
