Ingredients

  • chicken - 1 kg (boneless)
  • bay leaves - 2
  • butter - 1/2 cup
  • cinnamon sticks - 2
  • fenugreek powder - 1/2 tsp
  • garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • ginger paste - 1 tsp
  • maize flour - 1/2 tsp
  • onions - 2 (make into paste)
  • red chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • spinach puree - 2 cups
  • tomatoes - 2
  • oil - 4 tbsp
  • salt
  • green chillies - 2
  • butter - 1 tbsp
  • kasuri methi - a pinch

How to Make Saag Murg Recipe

  • Heat oil. Add whole spices, saute for a while .
  • Add ginger, garlic, tomato pureed and onion paste. Saute till oil separates.
  • Now add red chilli powder, spinach puree and cook for a while.
  • Dilute maize flour and add to the gravy.
  • In another pan, add butter chillies finely chopped and chicken pieces and saute till brown.
  • Add these chicken pieces to the spinach gravy and kasuri methi too, cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
