Ingredients

  • saffron - a big pinch
  • skimmed milk - 4 cups
  • sago - 4 tbsp
  • sugar - 6 tbsp
  • apple - 2 cup, peeled and grated

How to Make Sago and Apple Kheer

  • Heat milk till boiling.
  • Reduce the heat and stir in the sago.
  • Cook stirring till sago is transparent.
  • Add 4 Tbsp of sugar.
  • Stir the soaked saffron till it is well crushed and add to the cooked sago.
  • Cool and keep covered in the refrigerator.
  • Sprinkle grated apple with remaining sugar.
  • Add 2 tbsp of water and simmer gently for 2 minutes.
  • Cool completely and stir into the chilled kheer.
  • Leave in the refrigerator untill serving.
