Ingredients

  • 1 cup - sago (fine nylon)
  • 1/3 cup - moong dal
  • 3 - green chillies
  • 5 - cashews
  • 2 tbsp - coconut (Scraped)
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard
  • 1/2 tsp - urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp - Bengal gram dal
  • 2 tsp - lemon extract
  • Curry leaves -few leaves
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Sago upma

  • Soak sago in water for three hours.
  • Cook moong dal (do not overcook) and keep aside.
  • In a pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil and season with mustard, urad dal, Bengal gram dal, cashew, curry leaves and green chillies.
  • Now add the soaked sago and fry for a few min, till the sago becomes transparent.
  • Add cooked moong dal, grated coconut, lemon extract and salt to it and mix well.
  • Serve.
