Ingredients

  • 2 tsp - chana dal
  • 2 tsp - rice
  • 2 tsp - coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp - methi seeds
  • 2 tsp - toor dal
  • 1 - tamarind (lemon sized)
  • Pumpkin - a little
  • 1/2- onion
  • 1/2 - tomato
  • Bottle Gourd - little
  • Curry leaves
  • Coconut scrapings

How to Make Sambar with Pumpkin

  • Pressure cook toor dal.
  • Extract tamarind juice. Cook all the vegetables in it.
  • In a kadai put 1 tsp ghee and fry chana dal, rice and coriander seeds, methi, and curry leaves.
  • Grind all these things in a mixie.
  • Add this masala paste and dal to the tamarind juice and vegetables.
  • Add salt, boil it for 5 minutes.
  • Give tadka with mustard seeds and coconut, and serve it with rice.
