  • Raw rice - 1/2 kg
  • Boiled rice - 1/2 kg
  • Black gram (urad) dal - 100 g
  • Dry yeast - 1 tsp
  • salt - to taste

How to Make Sanna

  • Wash and soak both the rice and dal together for 4-6 hours. Grind to a smooth batter as for idlis.
  • Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water.
  • After 15 mins, add it to the batter.
  • Let the batter ferment and rise for about 2 hours.
  • Pour the batter in greased katoris and steam for 15 mins.
  • Cool for 5 mins and ease them out of katoris.
