Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg - Vermicelli
  • 2 - Onions, chop them finely
  • 2 - tomatoes
  • 4 - green chillies
  • 1 tsp - Ginger-garlic paste
  • Coriander, Mint leaves
  • 2 tsp - Curd
  • 1 tsp - Lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1.75 tsp - Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • Oil
  • salt
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - urad Dal, broken white
  • 1/2 tsp - Bengal gram Dal
  • Few Curry leaves

How to Make Semya Bhath

  • In a heavy vessel, pour 3 cups of water and allow it to boil.
  • Put vermicelli into the boiling water and allow it to cook for 3 mins. Drain and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil, add mustard seeds, urad and Bengal gram dal, curry leaves and fry.
  • Add onions and fry till it becomes soft.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, chopped green chillies, coriander, mint leaves, ginger-garlic paste and fry well.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder.
  • Then add curd and lemon juice and cook in a medium flame.
  • Add cooked vermicelli at the end and mix it well.
