  • 1 cup - Sesame seeds
  • 5 - Dry red chillies
  • 10 - Peppercorns
  • 1/4 cup - Channa dal
  • 1/4 cup - Urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp - Asafoetida powder
  • Salt

How to Make Sesame Powder

  • Dry roast sesame seeds, dry red chillies, peppercorns together until a nice aroma comes out, to the same pan, dry roast the channa dal, asafoetida powder and urad dal until they turn slightly brown.
  • Let them cool completely.
  • Grind everything as bit coarse powder and store them in an air tightened box.
  • Serve with rice.
