  • 1 bunch - fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 inch piece - ginger
  • 2 tbsp - chopped garlic
  • 4 - green chillies
  • 1 - medium-sized onion
  • 2 - large tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp - dry coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • salt to taste

How to Make Seyal Dabroti (Masala Bread)

  • Grind the coriander leaves, ginger, garlic, green chillies and onion in a mixer (the mixture should be in shredded form and not as paste).
  • Heat oil in a kadai or large frying pan. Add the masala.
  • Add the dry spices, tomatoes and salt and cook for 15 mins on low flame.
  • When the oil separates from the masala, add the sliced pavs or bread slices. Turn the sides of the pavs/bread slices so that they get coated with the masala properly.
  • Reduce the flame to the minimum, sprinkle a little water and cover the kadai with a lid.
  • Remove from the flame when the seyal bread is soft and ready.
  • Serve with papad and onion rings.
