Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Lentils stock
  • 10 - Shallots chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp - Rasam powder
  • 1 tsp - Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seeds, cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp - Asafoetida powder
  • 2 - Dry red chillies
  • 3 - Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves chopped
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to Make Shallot N Lentils Rasam

  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida powder and let them crack.
  • Add the chopped shallots and stir them until they turn translucent.
  • Mix rasam powder with enough salt to the cooked lentils water.
  • Add this spiced lentils water to the already cooked shallots and boil.
  • Then turn off the stove.
  • Add the lemon juice, chopped coriander leaves.
