Ingredients

  • 1 kg - shrimp (uncooked)
  • 2 - green chillies
  • 1/2 - coconut (grated)
  • 2 tsp - ginger paste
  • 1 pinch - turmeric powder
  • 2 - elaichi
  • 2 - cardamom
  • 2 - cinnamon - 2
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 1 pinch - sugar
  • Raisins, a few
  • salt to taste

How to Make Shrimp with Coconut

  • Heat oil in a pan, light fry the shrimps and keep aside.
  • In a separate pan heat oil add bay leaves, cardamom and cinnamon. Add onion and green chillies.
  • When the onion turns brown add ginger paste.
  • Add grated coconut and stir fry it for sometime.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt. Let it get cooked.
  • Add shrimp and then mix it well.
  • Add 1.5 cups water. After a while add sugar.
  • Let it get cooked till there is very less water left.
  • Add raisins and serve.
