Ingredients

  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Tomatoes- 3, chopped
  • Green chillies- 6, chopped
  • Onions- 3, chopped
  • Mint - 3 big bunches
  • Patta - 1/2 inch
  • Cloves 2
  • Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • Peas - 100 g
  • Water - 3.5 cups

How to Make Simple Mint Rice

  • Wash the rice and drain the excess water.
  • Heat oil in a pan and saute the rice slightly.
  • Grind mint into a smooth paste.
  • Heat oil In a pressure cooker and saute the onions and green chillies until the onions turn pink.
  • Then add the peas, the tomatoes, the ground mint, patta, cloves, fennel seeds, salt and the required amount of water.
  • When the water starts boiling, add the rice.
  • Cook until the rice is tender.
  • Serve hot with raita.
