Ingredients

  • One small tin - pineapple chunks.
  • 6 tbsp - jaggery.
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric.
  • 2-3 - red chillies.
  • 6 - black pepper.
  • 2 tbsp - channa dal.
  • 1 tbsp - coriander seeds.
  • 1 tbsp - rice powder.
  • 5 tbsp - grated coconut.
  • Salt to taste.
  • a few sprigs - curry leaves.

How to Make Simple Pineapple Pachadi

  • Add salt and turmeric to the pineapple cubes. Pressure cook for 10 mins.
  • Transfer to a cooking container. Add jaggery and let it boil till the smell of raw jaggery disappears.
  • Fry red chilli, black pepper, channa dal, coriander seeds in 1 tsp oil. After this turns brown, add the grated coconut and heat for about a minute.
  • Grind to a fine powder. Add rice powder to this and mix well.
  • Make a paste of the above powder with a little water and add to cooked pineapple. Let it boil for a few minutes. Season with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice and sambar.
