  • 1 cup dried green peas
  • 200 gms. or 1 cup paneer cubes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. chilli powder
  • 1 tsp. garam masala
  • ½ cup coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp. ginger-garlic paste
  • ½ tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • Oil or ghee as needed

How to Make Sookha Matar Paneer

  • Soak peas overnight and steam cook till soft.
  • Fry paneer cubes till golden and set aside.
  • Grind together onions, tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala and sugar finely.
  • Heat 4 tbsp. oil and add this paste. Fry on a low flame till brown.
  • The oil should separate from the spices.
  • Add peas and paneer and salt.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes, adding hot water if needed.
  • Add coriander leaves and serve hot with parathas.
