Ingredients

  • 4 cups - bisques pan cake mix
  • 2 cups - milk (or butter milk )
  • 4 - tomatoes
  • 4 - onions (medium size )
  • 3 - green chillies
  • 1 bunch - coriander
  • 1 small cup - oil
  • 1/4 tbsp - salt
  • 1/8 tsp - chilli powder

How to Make South Indian Oothappam

  • First cut tomatoes, onions and green chillies into very small pieces. Chop the coriander leaves also.
  • Mix milk with pancake mix and make a paste.
  • Add salt and chilli powder to the mix.
  • Add tomatoes, onions, green chillies and coriander leaves to the pancake mix, and mix well.
  • Heat a thick non-stick pan and spread the pancake mix on the pan.
  • Add oil around the corners of the pancake. Once it is heated for 2 mins, flip the pancake and heat it for two more mins.
  • Remove from the pan and serve. Instead of milk, you can add buttermilk to get a different taste.
