Ingredients

  • Mutton - 3/4 kg
  • Onion - 2
  • Chilly powder - 3 tsp
  • Dhaniya powder - 3 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 3/4 tsp
  • Ginger, garlic crushed - 1.5 tbsp
  • Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
  • For Roasting :
  • Onion - 1 large
  • Green chilly - 4
  • Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Dhaniya powder - 1/3 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coconut - 1/2 cup (cut into 1 cm squares, 1/4 cm thick)
  • Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp

How to Make Special Mutton Roast

  • Cook mutton in a pressure cooker with the ginger and garlic. Add salt and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and saute the chopped onions until brown.
  • Add green chillies and all the powders. Saute for 1 min.
  • Add the cooked mutton and stir till it dries up.
  • For the tempering, heat oil in a pan, saute the coconut pieces and curry leaves until coconut is brown.
  • Pour this over the mutton.
  • Stir and serve hot.
