  • 2 cups - prawns.
  • 1 cup -grated coconut.
  • 2 - onions (medium size).
  • 1 - tomato ( medium size).
  • 2 tsps - red chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder.
  • 1 tsp - garam masala.
  • Salt as per taste.
  • Coriander leaves.
  • oil.
  • 1.5 - bay leaves.
  • 1/2 inch - cinnamon stick.
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp.

How to Make Special Prawns Masala

  • Slice 1 onion, saute in 1 tbsp oil until transparent. Then add grated coconut and saute till is browns.
  • Then grind it to a paste and keep it aside.
  • In a pan, heat 2 tbsps of oil. Add bay leaf and cinnamon stick, then add remaining onion and saute till transparent.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala. Fry it very well.
  • Once the above mixture is done, add the prawns and also add the onion-coconut paste to the mixture.
  • Mix it well and add little water to the gravy.
  • Add salt as per your taste. Let it cook for 5 mins.
  • Once the prawns are cooked, add chopped tomato to the above gravy and let it cook for a while till the gravy becomes thick.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or chapatti or bakri.
