Ingredients

  • 1 cup - rice
  • 1 cup - ripened and diced tomatoes
  • 100 g - fresh coconut
  • 8 to 10 - red chillies (for mild taste)
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • A few coriander leaves

How to Make Special Tomato Dosa

  • Soak rice for two hours. Grind the rice to form a very fine paste.
  • Grind rest of the ingredients with a little water and add to rice batter.
  • Mix everything together and ferment for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Chop coriander leaves and add to the batter.
  • Heat the hotplate (tawa) and spread very little oil.
  • Spread a thin layer of batter (preferably start from outside and spread towards the centre). Serve hot.
