Ingredients

  • Clams (washed and shelled) - 1 cup
  • Onion chopped (medium) - 1
  • Tomato chopped (medium) - 1
  • Green Chillies slit - 2-3
  • Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp (more if you like it spicy)
  • Fish masala - 1/2 tbsp
  • Basil leaves - 2-3 (Dry basil 1 tsp)
  • Oil - 2-3 tbsp
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Spicy Clams Masala

  • Heat oil in a kadai and fry the green chillies and ginger- garlic paste for 1 minutes.
  • Add the onion and fry till soft.
  • Stir in the tomato and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Add clams and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now add all the powders, herbs and salt.
  • Mix thoroughly so you coat all the clams.
  • Add water and cook till the clams are done.
  • Add more water if needed.
  • Serve hot with chapatti.
