Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - chicken
  • 1 tsp - coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 5 - black pepper corns
  • 5 - whole dry red chillies
  • 1 inch piece - ginger
  • 6 cloves - garlic
  • 1 tbsp - ghee
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 3 - tomatoes, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to Make Spicy Kadai Chicken

  • Dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds and black pepper corns and grind to a coarse powder.
  • Grind red chillies, ginger and garlic to a fine paste.
  • Heat ghee and oil in a pan.
  • Add onion and saute till light brown.
  • Add half the spice powder and chilli-ginger-garlic paste and saute for 3-4 mins.
  • Add tomatoes and salt and continue to saute till the tomatoes become soft.
  • Add chicken and stir.
  • Add the remaining spice powder and mix.
  • Add half a cup of water and stir.
  • Cover and cook on medium heat till the chicken is done.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
