Ingredients

  • Moong dhal - 1 cup (cooked)
  • Spinach -2 cups (chopped finely)
  • Onion - 2 (1 chopped finely)
  • Tomato - 2 (1 chopped finely)
  • Green chilli - 3 (1 cut lengthwise)
  • Coconut - 1/2 cup (grated)
  • Ginger - 1 noodles
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Ingredients for paste:
  • Patta, Somfu, Lawang Patta, Ginger, Garlic, 1 Tomato, 1 Onion, 2 Green Chillies and Coconut

How to Make Spinach Kurma

  • Place a pan on fire. Add 2 tbsp - of oil.
  • Add the onion and fry till golden brown.
  • Add the green chilli and the tomato. Fry for few minutes.
  • Add the spinach now. Cook for few minutes, then add little water. Cover and cook until soft.
  • Use a big spoon to mash the spinach.
  • Add the salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder now. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Now add the cooked dhal and the ground paste. Cook until all mix together and the raw smell goes.
  • Garnish with coriander. This goes very well with plain rice, chapatti or poori.
