Ingredients

  • 400 to 500 g - broccoli, broken into florets
  • toasted sunflower seeds
  • For dressing:
  • 2/5 cup - olive oil
  • 2 tsp - sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp - mirin or white vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1.5 tsp - chopped fresh ginger
  • milled black pepper to taste

How to Make Steamed Broccoli with Oriental Dressing

  • For dressing:
  • Mix all the ingredients together.
  • Steam broccoli over boiling water for about 6 minutes or until just tender but still firm and bright green in colour.
  • Place broccoli in a serving dish and while still hot, pour over dressing.
  • Sprinkle toasted sunflower seeds over and serve immediately, as a light meal with crusty bread or as a side dish.
