  • 3 cups - rice flour
  • 2 - onions, finely chopped
  • 4 - green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp - carrot, grated
  • 1/2 cup- coriander (cilantro) leaves, chopped fine
  • 2 tsp - cumin seeds, coarsely pound
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 to 1 cup - water for mixing
  • oil for shallow frying

How to Make Stuffed Rice Roti

  • Mix all the ingredients except the oil, in a mixing bowl. Add enough water to bind all the ingredients together to form a dough.
  • Grease a frying pan (or tawa) with a little oil. Take a ball of the mixture (as big as a tennis ball) and place it in the middle of the greased frying pan.
  • Flatten the mixture on the pan with your fingers until it is round and flat.
  • Spread a little oil on it.
  • Cover the frying pan with a lid and cook over a med-low flame until it is cooked (colour changes).
  • Remove the lid and fry for a couple of minutes.
  • Turn over and fry on the other side for a few more minutes.
  • Serve hot with salted butter or mango pickle or coconut chutney.
