Ingredients

  • poha ( thick variety) - 1 cup
  • tamarind paste - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1tsp
  • haldi powder - 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • For Tadka:
  • groundnuts - 1 tbsp
  • mustard - 1 tsp
  • urad dal - 1 tsp
  • chana dal - 1 tsp
  • oil - 2 tbsp
  • few curry leaves
  • To Garnish:
  • grated coconut - 1tbsp

How to Make Tamarind Poha

  • Clean poha and coarsely powder in a mixer. Add tamarind paste, haldi powder, sugar and salt to taste. Mix well with little water.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add urad dal, chana dal, peanuts, curry leaves and fry till dal and peanuts are golden brown.
  • Add poha mix and fry well . Serve hot garnished with grated coconut.
